Hurricane Sandy took the East Coast by storm and many utility companies across the US traveled to help restore power. Salt River Project, one of Arizona's largest utilities, was one of the companies in that mix, however, they had a bit of an advantage. By using GPS tracking technology, Salt River Project employees were able to work more efficiently, even in unknown areas, communicate more easily with managers and work more quickly to restore power.
Once they return back to Arizona, there are also additional benefits they will see from using the GPS tracking devices. As we discussed in a previous post, the reports from the GPS tracking units can be easily be collected and used to submit the actual work, time and costs associated with the project to receive FEMA reimbursements.
