A CMV industry survey conducted by transportation technology firm Transplace and reported last week in Fleet Owner reveals a wide disparity between large and small carrier fleets regarding the ELD mandate. An overwhelming majority (81%) of the larger fleets have already accomplished full ELD implementation, in advance of the 2017 deadline. In contrast, many of the smaller carriers are reluctant to follow suit, and some expressed hope that the Final Rule would be overturned.

Carriers who haven’t taken the necessary steps can find a comprehensive, FMCSA-compliant solution for their fleet. Doing it now can help businesses realize the benefits of automated HOS logging—including reduced violations and fuel savings—almost immediately.
