Challenge:
Rogers Transport Pty Ltd, a family-owned specialist container transport and distribution company, has been operating throughout Australia since 1985. With a focus on superior customer service and timely delivery, Rogers Transport employs 43 staff members and operates a fleet of 34 trucks. However, rising fuel and operational costs posed a challenge to the company’s profitability. To enhance efficiency and ensure accurate processing of demurrage fees, which were resulting in a loss of $25,000 per annum, the company needed a solution that would optimise its vehicle fleet.
To tackle these challenges, Rogers Transport decided to install Teletrac Navman's Qube and MDT 860 mobile data terminal devices in 24 of its vehicles.

With the new system, Rogers Transport's eight container vehicles now transport an additional five containers per day, resulting in approximately $125,000 in increased revenue annually. Additionally, the ability to accurately account for time spent on each job has allowed the company to correctly bill for demurrage, recovering the previously lost $25,000 per year.
We have achieved around a one percent fuel saving per week since the implementation, accounting for a saving of at least $25,000 per year. In the transport industry where fuel is a significant operating expense, this saving has had a tremendous impact on our profitability which is flowing through to our bottom line.
